The Domestic & Commercial LPG Vapour Refresher Course is designed for experienced LPG practitioners who need to keep their technical knowledge current and reinforce safe, compliant working practices.

The course focuses on important developments, recurring industry issues and areas where practitioners commonly need updated understanding. It revisits key technical topics including ventilation, pipe sizing, pressure testing, flue gases, altitude, press-fit systems, site auditing and everyday LPG safety.

The programme is reviewed and updated annually so that the content continues to reflect changes in standards, industry practices, technical developments and relevant occurrences within the LPG industry.

This programme is suitable for:

The course is delivered online and also in person.

The programme is delivered as structured LPG theory training and combines technical instruction with practical industry examples. 

Training includes:

• instructor-led presentations

• technical diagrams and demonstrations

• relevant standards and regulatory requirements

• manufacturer documentation and installation guidance

• worked examples and calculations

• system-design and fault-identification exercises

• knowledge assessments

The programme can also be adapted for group, institutional or employer-based delivery where appropriate.

The course culminates in a formal examination designed to assess the learner’s knowledge and understanding of the material covered throughout the programme.

The examination includes:

• theoretical course knowledge

• LPG-related calculations and technical problem-solving

• application and interpretation of SANS 10087-1:2026

• understanding of SANS 1539

• understanding of the Pressure Equipment Regulations

• application of relevant safety, installation and compliance principles

Successful completion of the examination demonstrates that the learner has achieved the required theoretical understanding of the course content.

Where applicable, successful learners receive the relevant Gas Uni course certification upon completion of the programme and assessment requirements.
